New Facilitation Power Tools
Presented by Ismet Mamnoon
Introducing two new CPS power tools:
Often some of the best ideas are lost in the process of convergence. PACME is a facilitation tool that harnesses the full benefit of divergent thinking while facilitating convergence. Learn how to weave this tool into the facilitation process to enhance the effectiveness of the process and outcome.
In a business environment – the bottom line matters and we can increase the level of acceptance for new ideas if we can facilitate groups to attach some dollar values to their solutions. The $PPCo tool allows clients to evaluate and strengthen their ideas in a financial context.

Towards Global Creativity
Presented by Dr. Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas
In an increasingly globalized world how do we foster creative collaborations? Divergent definitions of creativity exist across the world, so does a creative divide exist? And, if so, how can we bridge it? Measures of creativity seek to define the creative advantage of various geographic locations, yet the majority of creativity research has taken place in Western cultures or with Western measures. The workshop will present recent international research findings on creativity as well as engage participants in hands-on activities that aim to expand our understandings of 21st century intercultural creativity.

Code of Conduct for Creativity Professionals: Hot or not?
Presented by Marci Segal
What makes a creativity professional? How do you know? Is it important for creativity professionals to abide by a code of conduct and/or have basic reliable competencies? The purpose for this session is to explore different points of view, to identify hurdles and to open doors for creativity professional ethics and code of conduct. It will provide time for reflection on your profession and how you feel about your role as a creativity professional today. Utilizing Science as a Vehicle for Creativity & Innovation
Presented by Jayme Cellitioci
Are you fascinated by science, technology and the natural world? Tap into your own passion for these topics and utilize others’ sense of curiosity as a gateway to meaningful, playful and authentic delivery of teambuilding, facilitation and instruction. The Creative Coach
Presented by Trevor McAlpine
Creativity practitioners are challenged to find opportunities to engage in formal, full-blown Creative Problem Solving (CPS) sessions. We need to find other, less formulaic ways of helping people better use their creativity.
The new Creative Problem Solving: Thinking Skills Model (CPSTSM) encourages such “guerilla creativity” by allowing it to mesh with the creative processes implicit in other contexts. From a business coaching perspective, experience has shown that Non-Directive Coaching (NDC) is one example where this transfer should happen.
Participants will learn:
- How to best use the Thinking Skills Model of Creative Problem Solving within a coaching context while avoiding pitfalls
inherent in such a mix
- How to actualize the creative promise inherent in coaching situations and help others contribute to their full potential
Come explore the synergies between CPSTSM and NDC, and hear how they are being applied today by a business coach.

Resisting Simplicity: Exploring false dichotomies and their impact on creativity
Presented by Ginny Santos
This workshop is inspired by Ruth Richards’ work on everyday creativity and her affirmation that false dichotomies (such as male vs. female, right vs. wrong, mind vs. body) inhibit creativity. Participants will be exposed to current, real-life complexities. There will be a balance of hands-on experimentation, reflection and discussion that lead to insights on how complex issues have historically been simplified and made into false dichotomies, and the impact this has on our creativity as individuals and as a society. Participants will be challenged to break down long-standing assumptions, gain emotional awareness, and learn tools and techniques for helping others embrace complexity.

Developing Symphony: Helping leaders see the forest and the trees
Presented by Laura & Tim Switalski
Introduced by Daniel Pink’s book “A Whole New Mind”, Symphony is the ability to put together the pieces, detect the patterns and see relationships combining both left and right side of the brain. During this session, we will demonstrate how Symphony connects with creative thinking and is critical to successful leadership. In particular, the development of visionary, strategic and contextual thinking and their associated skills will be explored. Developing a clear vision of the desired future is not only important for leading others but it is also key for leaders to develop their own potential. We will share our experiences working with different organizations and discuss how training, coaching, and on-going practice contribute to the creation of sustainable results.

A Creative Journey : Working with Images and Visual Narrative to Drive Innovation
Presented by Dr. Ginger Grant
Workshop participants will explore a mythic approach to the world of creativity and innovation and obtain practical tools to drive imagination into action. This workshop will combine the storytelling of Joseph Campbell, the creative drives of C.G. Jung, and the Stanford “Creativity in Business” methodology.
This workshop will provide a working map for the journey towards your own creative potential.
The tools of business are dynamic – capital, people, markets and ideas – all are living entities in a constant state of flux. To take these tools – to work with them and reorganize them in new and different ways to produce a positive effect in your life and your organization – is the essence of the creative process. Through real world examples and practical techniques, you will have a toolkit for immediate execution.
