LEGO SERIOUS PLAY

An amazing and very powerful way for co-creation, proto-typing and unlocking the full potential of any organization. It helps diverse groups of people engage in a creative way with and develop innovative solutions to complex issues. In this session, participants will be introduced to a rigorous method that can be applied to systems thinking, strategy, organizational development and intrapersonal awareness. It is a facilitated process, which is truly participant-centered, experiential, and embodied, which to our experience works across all cultures.
The objective of the workshop is to give each participant the opportunity to:
- Construct models to represent a personal vision of oneself as a facilitator or creativity practitioner through the use of Lego bricks.
- Build a deeper understanding of Lego Serious Play method as a facilitation method
- Encourage playfulness as a facilitation strategy

About the presenters
Dr. John F. Cabra
John F. Cabra, Ph.D, is an assistant professor at the International Center for Studies in Creativity. He was a former operations manager for American Airlines in Buffalo, New York. He has also held internal consulting positions for American Airlines in the fields of training and development, employee relations, and organizational development for its Miami, Caribbean, and Latin America division. Before joining American, John was a bilingual training and organizational development specialist for Fisher-Price Toys in Mexico. As an external consultant, John designed and presented programs on leadership and creativity for organizations such as Motts in Mexico, United Airlines, Chilean Travel and Tourism Association, Boehringer Maanheim, Quaker Oats, University of Rochester, Hyatt Aruba, Transitions Optical, and El Dorado Bogotá International Airport Authority. John has presented his work in 22 countries.
John's research interests are organizational creativity and perceptions of creativity across cultures.
He has published several articles in Latin American business journals. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Manchester, England, and a M.S. in Creativity from Buffalo State, State University of New York.

About Juliana
Juliana Sanchez Trujillo is working within Learning and Development in the Healthcare industry. Currently she is a Training Assistant for the Claims Operations Department at Independent Health. She is a certified Lego Serious Play workshop designer and facilitator. In addition, she works as a Creativity and Change Management Consultant for multiple organizations.
Juliana has worked as a consultant, facilitator and presenter in different industries in Colombia, Canada and United States. Some of her clients include Endesa Colombia, BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, Western New York Regional Economic Development Councils, State University of New York College at Buffalo, Young Audiences Arts for Learning, among others.
Juliana’s research interests are playfulness-based training, Organizational Creativity and Change Management.
In recognition for her outstanding work in the creativity field, she received the Mary Murdock Creative Spirit Scholarship award in 2011. Juliana recently published her first article in a Latin American Social Science Journal in conjunction with John F. Cabra. She holds a M.S. Creativity from Buffalo State, State University of New York and a B.A. Corporate Communications from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogota.
