Six Thinking Hats

Harry van der Schans
"I have found there are 2 basic pillars supporting creativity and innovation: the Osborn/Parnes problem solving model, and Dr. Edward de Bono's Six Thinking Hats and Lateral Thinking tool kits. This is where you should start”.
Roland Boose, Nestle USA Prepared Foods Division

"The Six Thinking Hats methodology was openly embraced by the advisors and we truly got much more robust output from the meeting than conventional advisory boards."                                                                                           Betsey King, Professional Relations & Education Manager, AstraZeneca

Koning Willem I College, founding member of the Dutch Edward de Bono Foundation, presents a Master Class on Edward De Bono's Six Hats.

Six Thinking Hats are time tested tools that boost creative performance. In this one day master class you will get acquainted with dr. Edward de Bono’s software for the mind. At least 80% of what we think and do is done in patterns. With De Bono’s thinking techniques we deliberately seek to disrupt these patterns. The techniques stimulate participants'  innate creativity and help them discover how to turn seemingly insolvable problems into real opportunities.

Six Thinking Hats provide a framework to focus and broaden thinking. Participants learn how to separate emotion from facts, the positive from the negative, and critical thinking from creative thinking. The method helps to put opinions aside so stronger solutions can be developed, without argument.

What will you learn?
After the workshop the participant is familiar with the Six Hats tools and able to apply these tools  for his/her own use. You will learn to use De Bono's Six Hats to increase the effectiveness of individuals, teams and organizations by:
  • Reducing meeting times by up to 50%
  • Addressing the behavioral factors that impede successful teamwork
  • Removing the politics from team decisions and meetings.
  • Providing a common language for the entire organization
  • Delivering more effective outcomes
  • Offering you a lot of fun!

Who should attend?

This workshop is for everyone who is in need for structured creativity, unconventional solutions and new innovative concepts. This workshop is designed for all people who are interested in thinking techniques and who wish to improve personal thinking skills, to improve teamwork, to initiate more productive meetings, to generate new ideas, and to solve problems faster. This workshop is also intended for everyone who is just interested to learn more about the Six Thinking Hats.
